VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) was established under Article 171 of the Constitution of Kenya in 2010, with the mandate of promoting and facilitating the independence and accountability of the Judiciary and the efficient, effective, and transparent administration of justice. 
Under Section 55 (2) (3) of the Sports Act No.25 of 2013, the JSC is required to appoint the Chairperson and Members of the Sports Disputes Tribunal.
The Commission therefore invites applications from suitable candidates to fill the following vacancies in the Sports Disputes Tribunal.

Job Title: MEMBER SPORTS DISPUTES TRIBUNAL (ADVOCATE)

Job Grade:

Terms Of Service: Under Section 56 of the Sports Act No.25 of 2013, the term of service for the Members of the Sports Disputes Tribunal shall be five (5) years on a part-time basis and may be reappointed for a further term of five (5) years subject to satisfactory performance.

Remuneration: The remuneration and allowances of the Members of the Sports Disputes Tribunal shall be determined by the Judicial Service Commission in consultation with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.

Job Requirements: Academic and Professional Qualifications:

Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya or possess an equivalent qualification in a Common-law jurisdiction;
Hold a law degree from a recognized university.
Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity
Have at least seven (7) years of experience and have experience in legal matters relating to sports or have been involved in sports in any capacity.

(c)	Names of three (3) professional references and two (2) character references who can verify and comment about the applicant’s past and present employment or engagement;
(d)	(d) Copy of professional certificates, testimonials, and academic transcripts, certificate of Admission to roll of advocate (where applicable)
(e)	Applicant’s recent colored passport-size photograph and 
(f)	Five (5) sample writings of any professional writings, including but not limited to judgments, advocacy submissions in courts, scholarly writings, or any legal publications that the applicant has authored.

The applications must reach the Commission NOT LATER THAN 2 APRIL 2025 AT 5.00 PM.

4.	Shortlisted candidates shall be required to produce originals of their National Identity card, academic and professional certificates and transcripts during interview.
